Basmati Rice

1121, 1509, Pusa and Traditional — raw, steam, sella

Basmati in the varieties the trade moves — 1121, 1509, Pusa and Traditional — milled as raw, steam, sella or golden sella and aged before shipment. Every basmati contract we write states the variety and the varietal purity, and a DNA test at an APEDA-recognised laboratory is available on the pre-shipment sample.

We contract on varietal purity, not appearance, and we will have the pre-shipment sample DNA-tested at your request — the same method the EU applies at import under Regulation (EC) No 972/2006. For EU shipments, basmati is sourced from millers whose paddy procurement is residue-monitored to the 0.01 mg/kg tricyclazole limit, and the residue report travels with the certificate of analysis.

The values above are the parameters we quote against and have verified at the load port. Where your own requirement is tighter, yours governs and we quote to it.
